ZKTeco joins BTX to break down the features, performance, privacy and implementation considerations of SpeedFace+.
Temperature & Mask Detection with ZKTeco
BTX and ZKTeco USA have entered into a distribution partnership to provide high performance devices that detect if a person has an acceptable temperature and is wearing a protective mask. The units feature patent-pending technology and provide 100% touchless user authentication from up to 8 feet away for various applications - including access control, time & attendance, visitor management and more.
The Safe Choice
ZKTeco’s mission is to create a more safe and secure world by providing quality, comprehensive, flexible and affordable security solutions. ZKTeco is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of security and time management solutions. Our new partnership allows BTX to offer our customers top of the line temperature readers to ensure safety in any industry.
While many companies are rushing to bring temperature readers to market, ZKTeco has a long history in access control and biometric verification development. ZKTeco SpeedFace+ readers use locally stored 3-dimensional data points rather than photos to recognize faces. This reduces privacy concerns and provides more accurate readings from greater distances, even in total darkness and bright sunlight. Faces can also be recognized with masks on or off, while temperature can be read with an accuracy of 0.6 F.
Touchless Temperature Alert Technology
When employees come to work sick, they put themselves and everyone else at risk. With the SpeedFace+ series readers, they can help detect when users have high temperature and the user & supervisors can then take necessary health precautions. With the new landscape that COVID-19 has created, temperature readers are essential to ensure employee safety in any industry.
SpeedFace+ is a series of high-performance face, palm and fingerprint recognition readers that additionally detect temperature and the presence of a protective mask worn by both registered users and visitors. When any user is detected having unacceptable temperature, a snapshot can be taken, and audio/visual or e-mail alert can be generated.
In the reader settings, it can be enabled to deny access to registered users or visitors having unacceptable temperature. Customers can plan for the next course of action when a user gets denied.
With SpeedFace+ series readers, customers can program an alarm output that triggers an audio/visual alert which notifies security personnel when unacceptable temperature is detected. When using ZKBioSecurity management software, SpeedFace+ can also trigger an email notification sent to the system administrator so they can take appropriate action based on their company policy.
As the coronavirus pandemic continues to affect lives on college campuses around the world, Terra State Community College has stepped up its safety precautions by installing three SpeedFace+ temperature scanners. Students are required to go through the face recognition where temperatures are taken at the only entrance. The device beeps and sends an email alert if a person is not wearing a mask or if their temperature is above 100.4 degrees.
Terra State President Ron Schumacher said. "I feel real good about some of the decisions that our leadership team made in investing in the pieces of equipment that we have."
